Project Nandi
Objective: Preventing disparities in distance learning by providing technical support, laptops, food, and broadband assistance to Black, Indigenous, Latinx, and Asian students.
Recent Progress: Over 200 families supported with technology services, 278 computers distributed, ongoing efforts to assist 400 children this school year.
Joy on Film
Background: Participants are given instant-print digital cameras, and instructed to photograph the things that bring them joy.
Purpose: The act of noticing and identifying the elements of life or space that bring joy is a mindfulness practice that helps to reduce stress and increase wellbeing.
Way of the Root Farm
Background: Using the connection to the earth to heal, unite, & teach Black Communities.
Highlight: Incorporating agri-technology into community centered placemaking to bring prosperity & safety to black communities.
Black Broadband Summit
Background: A revolutionary event addressing digital redlining and inequities in lower-income communities.
Highlights: Integrated traditional practices for a safe and inclusive environment, discussions on shared experiences, and community-driven solutions for a future without digital barriers.
Twin Cities Broadband Cooperative (TCBC)
Background: A community-owned internet provider dedicated to closing the digital divide through equitable, locally controlled infrastructure.
Highlights: We reinvest in our neighborhoods to support long-term economic and educational equity by providing affordable internet and technology services.
